  Pet shop & caged budgies are poor fliers, fine in your house but outside they just don't have the stamina or the wing muscles developed over generations of budgies that will never fly like wild budgies in Australia where they originally come from .

  This person is completely clueless and should be banned of doing such practices. They are buying animals (which is giving pet stores profit) and then releasing them to their death. And in case they survive, they are literally releasing non-native species into an environment they don't belong to as an invasive species, destroying the ecosystem they live in. If you really love animals, educate yourself on the matter instead of commiting even more damage than the system you think you are fighting against.

  The only fish/pets you should release into the wild are wild born ones! And even then it’s important to know to only release them in their natural environment/ecosystem

  Budgies are tropical birds,no?
  Setting them “free” in Ontario where the winters can get pretty severe at time seems like a death sentence.
  Well meaning,maybe.
  But how to you “train” a hand reared,domesticated animal to survive in the wild,in a climate that it doesn’t have the adaptations to survive?

  Me buying a budgie a month bc I love them in Canada I have bought 6 but one died due to unknown cuases😢 others are healthy thank god

  If you go to some city’s, like some in England ( can’t specifi ) you can find parrots just chilling in the city!
