A highly requested video that I finally got around to make. Im sorry its so long but frankly a lot goes into the day with parrots and I wanted to give a good idea of how much you have to do. This day they were well behaved but I plan to make another daily routine during nesting/hormonal season to give you an idea of them at their best and at their worst.
Here is a breakdown of my day:
1. Wake up at 7:20am
2. Wake up the birds
3. Go downstairs to give them fresh vegetable chop and pellets
4. Bring them in for a shower or offer a bath
5. Let them receive some sunshine, watch some tv or music
6. Bring them back down to finish chop, eat fruit, treats like walnuts and some nutriberries
7. Bring them back upstairs
8. Clean their downstairs cage with vinegar and a power wash outside
9. Clean upstairs area, vacuum, change lining
10. Relax watch tv or run errands
11. Make sure they all ate dinner, Put them to sleep when the sun goes down
12. Leave lights off and leave room for complete uninterrupted sleep
13. Go downstairs to vaccum and clean the mess they made, wipe walls, floor, or any other mess they made

THANK YOU. I learned a LOT. But I wanted to add IT’S EXTREMELY EASY TO HOUSEBREAK A BIRD I’m an old lady and I’ve had birds all my life. all my birds could fly, and I spent all day every day cleaning up after them on the floors, changing shirts every day at least twice or three times. I was down chairs and the tops of sofas. I spent hours every day, just making sure there was no poop on the human areasof my home. My 18-year-old bird housebroken herself. I’d like to tell you how easy it was.:
When I got a new puppy, IParis was 18 yrs old. When I would take him out first thing in the morning naturally I took my sun conure out with us. I would put Paris on the Wrought iron railing, and then I would walk a few feet away & stand on the steps supervising my dog. I got to noticing that my bird poohed every morning when I had sat him on the railing—because, naturally, it was first thing in the morning & birds naturally have to Pooh as soon as they awaken.
Well, my dog was trained, and I got to thinking why don’t I take Paris out every hour or so and put her on railing and see if he would Pooh. He always did. From that point I started putting him on the cage off of my shoulder about every hour as soon as he pooped I said nothing as I’ve heard housebreaking a. Bird is terrible, but I feel just placing a bird on a fence or on a cage & pickng them up just after they Pooh isn’t a bad thing in MY mind,
Anytime just after she poohed I would put her back on my shoulder. She soon learned that INSIDE THE CAGE or OUTSIDE ON THE WROUGHT IRON RAILING were the ONLY places where he was supposed to poop. She didn’t mind it a bit.
I seen an added an outdoor cage that I made out of a window. She considered that so naturally she pooped there. I also made a perch on the faucet inside the lavatory in the bathroom. She was with me all the time and so when I would go take a bath or put on my make up, I would set her on that perch. She would poo in the laboratory and then all I had to do was rinse it out.
I live in when she died and I got a new Sun conure I named WhoDat. The lady, I bought him from said that he didn’t like to poo on a person and he would fly back to his cage already, so I bought an already housebroken bird, which was awesome. But naturally when he came to my house, he wasn’t used to it anytime I take (service dog out first thing in the morning.
I moved from New Orleans and I’m in a different house no longer have wrought iron railing. So I put on a little railing that I have around my flowers. He immediately poops I pick him up. And he rides on my shoulder while we wait for my dog to pee.
Inside the house, I would put him on the cage and when I saw him poo I would pick him up saying nothing and put him on my shoulder for a while. In a little while, I would put him back on the cage and as soon as he pooped, I would put him back on my shoulder. Now he does it within 30 seconds and he’s back on my shoulder.
I have perches in every room like I’m sure all of you do. I did the same with every perch and every room putting him on it letting him poo and then putting immediately back on my shoulder. I named each perch cage so that when I had him on my shoulder and I didn’t want to walk all the way over there, I would just tell him, “Go HOME (that’s the cage in my bedroom. I didn’t do this just to have him poop, sometimes I would just send him to his cage because I had things to do, but he knew to put there because he had learned wherever he perched that was where he was supposed to go.
This little darling, poos Only on his cages 98% of the time. Once in a while, I’ll be watching television and it’ll be two or three hours. He’ll be sitting on my shoulder and I’ll forget my shirt. I just thought this would save you a heck of a lot of time and it’s very easy to do. Birds are extremely intelligent and Paris in essence “housebroken herself” & this, in turn taught ME what to do when I got a new bird.
You may or may not want to try it, but I just felt I could save you a few hours every day if you decided to housebreak your Birds.
Again, thank you much for your videos. I learned a lot. I’ve taken three pages of notes just on this video alone.!!!!
I had Paris for 20 years and I never had to clean up the floor or the bed or chairs or anything for those last 2 yrs. . Sometimes she would still poo on my shoulder, not often, but that was my fault because I had forgotten to put her on her cage.
No savia que eran latinos. Me encanta tus video.
Exitooo!
EVERY conure has the same name lol
I have a monk parakeet/qweker parrot i only have one but i love him i want to ask how do you tell luka and kiui apart ?😅😅😅
I feel like your kind of lucky that your birds get along enough to eat together because my green cheek is jealous. If I even give my cockatiel a little scratch, so I have to feed them separately so they don’t fight.
Great video! I want to get an indian ringneck parrot. What age you recommend to get them? Thank you and Blessings from Texas. 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻
Ever sun conure: mango
I remember first watching this video 2 years ago, and now I’m finally getting my first sun conure tomorrow 🥹💕
Love your videos it's my new favorite 😍 channel ❤ I have a lot a lot of budgies in my house so I'm a bird lover my self too ❤❤❤
Such a great Daily Routine, love seeing how other people care for there birds on a day to day basis!
This is great. And I love how you have space and toys and so interactive for the birds
It hurts my heart when I see people that keep their birds caged and/or cages too small
I pretty much know a lot about Quakers cuz I've owned them for so long, but this was so enjoyable to watch, abd my bird Bella really enjoyed it too😄🐦💚
I owned two quakers Bella and Joey past 20 & 21 yrs, and recently my 28-year-old Joey passed away from an illness that hit him overnight💔
I've always played Bird videos for them, but recently I've been trying to find more Quaker videos since Bella now is alone – she's 22 years old
Im looking forward to getting either an indian ringnecked, quacker, or a conure and i have experience with birds and know how to care for them perfectly, do u have any advice on wich one i should get or just advice if u dont have experience on ringneckes. Also I LOVED UR VIDEO U AND UR BIRDS ARE BEAUTIFUL ❤
Aren't you afraid to open the balcony door when birds are nearby? They could fly outside in a second.
Can 3 birds be in one cage?
Nice video!
Are they all males ?
sun conure scream doesn't drive you mad?
Ahh! Their biting really hurts mine also bite me some times😢 they are only 3 months old though. Btw beautiful birds❤ it was lovely to watch your videos🥰
I saw here that you are only giving them pellets at dinner. I give mine veggie grainbake in the morning and dinner. Should I only give the bake in the morning rather?
Wow that's how my hands looked 3 months ago. Pretty painful 😢
Keeko is literally scared of ladders. I had a hanging one in his cage I had to remove. I have a small stiff one I leaned against his tree on the table. He did not go on his tree because of that ladder. How could I possibly make him claim it? I saw your 2 went up there really fast. I am kinda disappointed he doesn't. He learned a lot in the 7 months I have him. I just think he didn't have anything fun in his first 2 years.
Love your videos
♥️🇧🇩♥️
My quaker tico is 18 months old he won't eat any veggies or fruit only eats the white of the eggs. And he has his toys but he is so naughty .
Hi quick questions I have 2 sun conures one is quite young and the other is a year and older,I wanna know if i should leave food overnight in the cage for them or not,and also is there a schedule to be feeding them.
For my birds we have a food plate thingy in the cage and we leave it there all the time and they eat quite a lot of it,i think it’s probably wrong so I wanna ask you what I should do for them relating to their feeding and stuff.
Also is caffeine quite bad for them cuz the older one always flies to me when I’m eating breakfast and drink my chai😅
I’m very worried for the other one we just bought her and she can’t balance on those and keeps slipping she doesn’t hav wings long enough yet and she keeps falling down, luckily I catch her everytime but is it a serious injury if she falls from the table to the ground,I say we give her back cuz our own sun conure which is a year just came a month ago and my family doesn’t know anything about birds so it’s better for her if we give her back but will it damage the healthy one in any way?
I know this is a lot but I rlly can’t find anyone else to answer these so I rlly hope you can
How old are each of the birds?
Man we used to have 2 of these bird but we have to give them away, those two remind me so much of them
Hello
Can you put your ingredients, for your chop recipe to be seen.🙂
