Hi Sophie – when we talk about 12 hours does that have to or must be all at once? I have read for example putting your beard to sleep at 9 to 6 and then it gets few hours rest in the afternoon? just wanted to ask if this was ok? I normally sleep early but wake up at 5 to go to the gym etc so thinking how I can manage the routine? any advise around this would be great.
Hello, I have a doubt. Is it ok for cockatiels to sleep with their heads tucked behind their backs? And if they sleep, must they put their one foot up or is it ok if they sleep with both foot down? Can u please help me on this

Hello please please please reply! My cockatiel, she always sits on the corner of the cage ever since we put her in a cage which was months ago , it's like her safe place, she preens there and all, today he hasn't sang and is sitting in that corner preening , she seems okay active and normal droppings, she used to sing alot before, ever since kids came to our house and stayed for 3 or 5 days she hasn't sing much because she not comfortable about strangers she sings once or twice a day but short singing, before she sings long singing, is it because she is a little hormonal now? She doesn't mate all the time and everyday, she mates some days for a few mins, she barely mates, please help (the kids left weeks ago or a month ago, my cockatiel is Is boy btw)

My green cheek lets me know he's ready for bed by becoming a little compass on my finger, or a pointer dog. "Take me this way! To bed!" 😂 I think he doesn't just fly himself because it's too dark.

I cover my birds at bedtime, but not to control their sleep or in an effort to induce sleep. I live in a small apartment, so my birds sleep in my bedroom, and i obviously don't sleep for 12h a day! So I have a cover that I sewed myself that snaps on and off the cage, this way they can be washed and completely removed, but even then it's only on the front and open side of the cage, not the top or back. It's mostly just to not freak my birds out when I get to bed ❤️ thankfully, my birds aren't super sensitive with bedtime and I can get away with a bit more than most likely could, but I still do my best to keep mornings slow and steady. I sleep with a white noise machine, so I don't bother the birds with my sleep and vise versa, which has helped too. My late rosella would get night frights, and something that really helped her was warning her when the lights went on or off. Even if it was day time or not very dark out, living in Northern Ontario and winters days are very short, so lights are inevitable in the winter, and to this day 15 years later I still say "lights on/off" when I flip a switch
I think I saw a video on how to prepare the chamomile for my birb but I forgot where it was! Any quick reply on how to prepare? Am American, don't drink hot tea. LOL Do I need a steeper? Do I boil the water and put the flower/leaves in? Wait for it to cool and serve?
